PRESCHOOLERS

Must be four (4) years old by December 1, 2005, in order to participate. They meet during the same times as those in grades K-6. However, pre-school uses the text, “I Am Special”, which incorporates stories, songs, finger plays, games, prayer, dramatizations, felt boards and sensory activities to help young children learn about God’s love for them. It helps children grow in an appreciation of the world and God’s blessings. It helps young children learn social skills and helps them form Christian attitudes toward other boys and girls. They come away knowing that they are special and others are special too.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

CLW – CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Children”s Liturgy of the Word takes place every Sunday during the 10:00 am Mass. Children are led out after the opening prayer and return after the Prayer of the Faithful. CLW is open to all school-age children. Registration for this program is not required (There is a desire to expand this program to other Liturgies. Call Berni at 939-7500 if interested.)

During CLW, the Word is read and explained at a child’s level. Children take turns enacting the parts of the readings and discussing what it means. They pray for their needs and their loved ones and then rejoin their parents.

KIDS FOR CHIRST ADVENTURE CLUB

This monthly Saturday program has two distinct parts. There is no fee for the program.

Part I (10:00 am – 11:00 am) a particular grade level of student and their parents/guardians are invited to a special event that incorporates some lessons from their text, with a special activity.

Part II (11:00 am – Noon) is open to all children grades 1-6. Parents need not stay. Registration is preferred, so materials can be prepared. This segment teaches about the lives of Saints.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Accepts a limited number of students on a first come first served basis. Registration forms will be available May 1 st in the parish office. The event will be held June 19 – 23 rd, 2006.

The 2005 event was Serengeti Trek. It was attended by 75 students, assisted by 55 helpers and served a closing dinner to 206 people.
